What is a Learning Coach?
Congratulations, you are now a Learning Coach! k12 Learning Coaches are parents, guardians, or other trusted adults that enroll their student with ISMN and are responsible for supporting their student academically & emotionally. We know that your role is extremely important to the success of your student. We also know that you need support and time transitioning into this role. We are excited to partner with you and your family! |
Here is a link for some helpful videos for new and returning ISMN families when thinking about school expectations, time commitments, and socialization.
For your convenience, we have put together an easy-to-read outline of Learning Coaches' expectations. We have found that our most successful students have Learning Coaches who prioritize their student's learning in these ISMN-specific ways. |

Student + Learning Coach + Teachers = Success! Here are some helpful sites when preparing for a successful 2021-2022 school year. |
We know that some of our students were met with challenges at their previous school. Some of these challenges include poor academic performance, unengaged or bored with school, frequent absences from school, felt unsafe at school, or perhaps received suspensions or been left back.
While we are a flexible school environment (sign me up for attending live Class Connects in my PJs, avoiding the crowded hallways, and ignoring bullies!), attendance is just as important in the virtual setting. We also follow state and county truancy laws and policies like any other brick-and-mortar school. Talk to us about your previous experiences and future concerns - we will find a way to keep students successful while attending online. |
